Cirlce of Friend Award!
Thank you so much to the lovely Ann from (VINTAGE AT THE CORNER HOUSE) for giving me this award. It was so lovely of you to think of me.
The conditions of accepting the Award are:
- List five things I like doing.
- Pass the Award on to five more Bloggers I would like to know a little more about.
Here we go then...!
- Antique Fairs...I love going to Antique Fairs, where I have met so many lovely stall holders over the years which have become very good friends. If I am not at a Fair, you will find me at a charity shop or an auction.
- Collecting...I love collecting things from the 1940's or 50's, which has got way out of hand, I am ashamed to admit, I have become a terrible hoarder! Most people have a few embroidered tablecloths; I have ended up with hundreds of items from collecting them over many years. If it's not tablecloths it's vintage scarf's, children's handkerchiefs, vintage aprons, etc... I think I could go on for ever more on this one. I have promised myself when I get a few hours spare I am going to have a major clear out.
- Books...I love reading before I go to sleep, especially novels from the 1940's and 50's era. Dee Williams is one of my favourite Authors.
- Little weekends away...I love going away in my caravan for weekend's, which sadly is not very often these day's. Last year we did go away however, to a 1940's weekend at Sheringham, which I had never done before. I loved it so much we are hopefully going to go again this year. If anyone loves the 1940's, I highly recommend it!! Hubby even got arrested for not having a dog licence, which was so funny because it really was like being back in those day's when you are there.
- Things that make me smile...I love having things around my house that make me smile, which is mostly cute little things that I would never part with. Like this card that was given to me by my 21 year old son Gavin (Munchkins) and his girlfriend five years ago just before he died. Which I look at every morning, as well as the little fairy that was given to him on Christmas morning the day he was born by my mum. He would always laugh at the funny things I would bring back home from a Fair or a car boot, and think his 40 something mum was going a bit mad!!
I hope this post has given a little more about me, and the things I like doing.
These are the 5 Bloggers I would like to give the Circle of Friends Award to;
- Hen House
- BOBO BUN
- Country Cottage Chic
- At Home with Mel Mel
- TABIBOO
Thank you so much everyone, who left a message on my last post it was so very kind of you all.And I cannot thank you enough.I was looking forward to be writing this post on a more cheerful note, but today it has been a rush trip to the doctors. When I woke up this morning, my left arm was still very painful, swollen and red from where I had the Tetanus injection last week. I wasn't too worried about that, it was the uncontrollable twitching in that arm that worried me. It turns out that I am having a very bad allergic reaction to the Tetanus jab, and to be quite honest I am felling a bit low and not my usual self, "I was hopping that knock on the head would have knocked some sense into me"... "Well I think that's what my hubby was hoping for!!!On a happier note, these are a few glimpses of some of recent finds. A lovely embroidered Tea cosy cover. And I love these two hand embroidered little pictures, sadly there is no hook at the back of them. A sweet pair of Bookends. And finally this lovely old picture, that I am hoping to put up on my bedroom wall. ( definitely NOT near the stairs )
Enjoy the rest of the week everyone, hopefully fingers crossed it might be lovely and sunny !! xx
Yesterday I spent most of the day at the Hospital ...All because of this picture!!!What happened was.. The other day I found at a charity shop a lovely bright yellow wooden coat stand, not all that keep on bright yellow! So I thought I would put it in the spare bedroom ( junk room) till I had time to paint it. As I was carrying it up the stairs it knocked the picture off the wall, and the picture landed on my head!!!It honestly felt like somebody had hit me over the head with a brick..I just sat on the stairs and burst into tears, and then saw all this blood dripping from my head. I thought I was going to pass out! as I walked into the kitchen and looked in the mirror my face and dressing gown was just covered in blood.Should I phone an Ambulance or phone hubby... I ended up screaming down phone to hubby, "get here quick I am bleeding to death!!! ( NEUROTIC OR WHAT) So I grabbed my tracksuit bottoms, " the ones I had on the night before; Well I couldn't go to the Hospital in my disgusting dressing gown!... I think hubby was shocked when he saw the state of me!!!After a long wait to see a Doctor, a kind nurse gave me a Tetanus jab, and all the other things like my blood presser taken e.g. The doctor finally arrived, and started asking me all sorts of questions as I sat on the bed " like did I have blurred vision" e.g. "Then all of a sudden" I looked down at my navy blue tracky bottoms, and to my "HORROR"I spotted grains of " DRIED SPECIAL FRIED RICE" stuck on the bottom of my trackies, from the Chinese I had the night before. All I could think about was... how ashamed I was going up the Hospital like this, with dried rice stuck to my clothes. SHOULD I FLICK IT OFF!! Before he saw it... or try and cover it with my hand?... I think I must have made thing's worse because he kept asking me if my ankle was hurting.Thank goodness when he went out to see one of the nurses!!!He couldn't make his mind up to weather to glue my head, or leave it to heal on it's own. As the cut didn't look SO bad when they had cleaned me up..." YES I FLICKED IT OFF" I am ashamed to admit!!! And worst of all, he told me I cannot wash my hair for another four or five day's, which needed washing already.I know my Mum will be looking down on me now and laughing!! .. She always said "Make sure you always have clean knickers on, and clean clothes. You never know when you have to go somewhere in an.. EMERGENCY !!!
